About Us

We are PLOS

Putney Light Operatic Society (PLOS) has been bringing musical theatre, pantomime, and community spirit to South West London for over 70 years. From large-scale productions to intimate plays, we’re proud to create high-quality shows that celebrate talent, teamwork, and a shared love of performing.

We’re more than just a theatre group – we’re a community.

Whether you want to perform, get involved behind the scenes, or simply enjoy our shows from the audience, PLOS is a place where everyone can feel at home.

The PLOS Committee

Behind every PLOS production is a dedicated committee who volunteer their time and energy to keep the society running smoothly.

From organising auditions and rehearsals, to managing finances, marketing, costumes, and social events, our committee members work hard to make sure PLOS continues to thrive both on and off stage.

This is the heart of PLOS: passionate people making theatre happen.

Inclusion & Diversity

PLOS is committed to making theatre accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone.

We believe the stage – and the rehearsal room – should be a safe and supportive space where people of all backgrounds, ages, abilities, and identities can express themselves and feel valued.

  • Open Membership: Anyone with enthusiasm can join – no matter your experience level.
  • Casting with Fairness: Roles are cast based on talent, commitment, and potential, never on stereotypes or assumptions.
  • Celebrating Differences: We recognise the strength that comes from diversity and actively encourage participation from underrepresented groups in the arts.
  • Supportive Environment: We foster kindness, respect, and collaboration in everything we do.

At PLOS, we’re united by a shared love of theatre – and we’re proud to build a society where everyone has a voice, both on stage and behind the scenes.
